Beyond The Palace

Asbury Park Rock N Roll Museum

In 1986, there was a new addition to the Asbury Park landscape. The Asbury Park Rock 'N Roll Museum opened its doors inside The Palace Amusements building. Although Bruce Springsteen was the main centerpiece, owners Billy Smith and Stephen Bumball made sure to spotlight many of the other performers from the Jersey shore, such as Southside Johnny and Little Steven.

MTV did a live remote from the museum with Southside Johnny. Billy and Stephen were also pictured with some of the memorabilia in an article about the museum in Rolling Stone written by Robert Santelli.

Even Bruce Springsteen took a tour of the museum while shooting the "Tunnel of Love" video inside The Palace.

Below are pictures of some of the various exhibits that were in the museum.
