"The Boys From The Casino..." Casino Carousel House face |
||||
The Casino sits at the south end of Asbury Park's boardwalk. In its glory days, it held a large theatre on one side, and a carousel and other amusements on the other. Contrary to some beliefs, it was never a gambling establishment. |

In the Bruce
Springsteen "SONGS" book, on page 3, there is a photo taken by Bruce,
showing the early morning sunlight shining on the Casino's north face.
This photo was then used on Bruce's 1999/2000 tour t-shirts. Bruce shot
his haunting video for "Tunnel of Love" inside the Casino's theatre.

In the late 80s/early 90s, the
carousel was dismantled and sold in pieces. The carousel house was
briefly reborn in the late 90s to 2000 as the Casino Skate Park which
featured skateboard ramps and a proshop. Included in the photos below are three from a 1986 storm in late September which caused quite a bit of damage. |
