The Asbury Park Convention Hall lies on the north end of the boardwalk. Its large hall welcomed some of the top rock acts during the 60s, such as Janis Joplin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, and more. It still continues to host shows and events in Asbury Park. In 1999, Bruce Springsteen used the Convention Hall for rehearsals with the E Street Band before their world-wide 1999/2000 reunion tour. He also did two pre-tour rehearsal shows there for fans in March of 1999. In the following years, Bruce and other performers have done holiday benefit shows, with proceeds going to local charities. In June of 2000, Bon Jovi performed
a charity show at the Convention Hall. In the Summer of 2002, Bruce and the band hosted NBC's Today Show to celebrate the release of his album "The Rising."
