Cherokee Tribune (Canton, GA) -- September 29, 2009

Hilburn Childers, age 73, of Canton, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2009, at his residence. He was a retired poultry plant hanging line operator and a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Travis Childers, Rev. Roger Elliott and Rev. Earl Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Old Macedonia Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Eva Mozelle Childers, Canton; sons, Norman Childers, Jasper, Charles Childers, Calhoun, Glenn Childers and John Childers, Canton; daughters, Joyce Lathem, Cumming, Betsy Hillhouse, Canton; brothers, Truman Childers, Jasper, Clemon Childers and Bobby Childers, Canton; sisters, Stella McDaniel and Betty Smith, Ranger, Claudine Prather, Jasper; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
