The Graveyard Shift
Oakland Cemetery, Atlanta, Georgia This statue of Jasper Newton Smith sits atop his mausoleum. Because his mausoleum is close to the gate of the cemetery, it appears as if he's watching everyone who comes and goes at Oakland. It is also said that his view would let Smith, an architech of many of Atlanta's first tall buildings, watch the city's skyline grow. |
