The Graveyard Shift
Oakwood Cemetery, Montgomery, Alabama This grave shows a child reclining while a small lamb sleeps near him. The stone in front reads "MARY AND LITTLE FLOCK." A woman and several of her small children died of scarlet fever in the 1850s. Her husband and another child survived. This was put on the graves of her children, a large statue for Mary stands by it. |
